Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline including angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and fled to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the party access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the players to form the Explorers and Strategists parties.
Fans can expect finding out which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
