Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home form, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
