Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
