Recent Details Emerge Regarding the Discovery of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains
Recent details have emerged concerning the untimely passing of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their residence residence on Sunday.
The Discovery
According to a report referencing a family associate, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the residence. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.
After gaining access to the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Subsequently, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Charges
Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, including the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently in custody without bail.
Clarifications
The person close to the family also disputed several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.
Additionally refuted widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction includes reports of reportedly "unstable" behavior by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Timeline
As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts noted the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the scene. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
